Board Meetings:
The
Board of Commissioners of the Harrisburg Township Park District holds
regularly scheduled meetings at 8 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the Park
Office. The public is cordially invited to attend these meetings. Any
citizen wishing to be placed on the agenda may call the park office at
618.252.2111.
Non-Resident Program Fees:
Any
individual who does not reside within the Harrisburg Township Park District
boundaries may be subject to pay a minimum fee increase of $5.00 per
program.
Conduct Codes:
The
Harrisburg Park District requests these rules be followed while
participating in park sponsored programs:
-
Refrain from showing disrespect to other participants and staff.
-
Refrain from using foul language.
-
Refrain from causing bodily harm to themselves, other participants, and
staff.
-
Refrain from damaging program equipment, supplies, and facilities.
-
Refrain from participating in unlawful activities.
Registration Procedures:
Registration for all programs is on a first come, first serving basis. Most
programs will also accept registration at their first scheduled meeting. No
refunds will be given after the first scheduled class unless individuals are
under unavoidable circumstances.
Program Times:
Parents should pay close attention to all announced program times. Children
must not be dropped off to the program site any earlier than five minutes
before the scheduled starting time; this is due to the lack of supervision
at the site. Parents should also be advised that site supervisors are only
liable for participants for up to five minutes after the conclusion of the
program. Failure to comply with these regulations can result in the
participant being dropped from the program.
Bad
Weather:
Supervisors are instructed to cancel outdoor programs if bad weather is in
our area. Since it is impossible to notify all parents of a cancellation,
the supervisors will post a notice at the program site and/or information
can be obtained by calling the park office during regular business hours. If
bad weather does indeed move into our area, parents should make arrangements
to pick their child up immediately.
Bad
Weather – HYA Baseball and Softball Games:
You
may obtain field condition messages/bad weather instructions by either: 1.
calling your child’s coach; 2. clicking the “field conditions” link on the
park homepage, Monday through Friday; 3. call the Park Office at 252.2111
for an automated message after 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Shelter Reservations:
Shelter reservations may be made at the Park Office. The park has a variety of eight
shelters. Fees are $10.00 per 4 hours / $20.00 with electricity OR
$20.00 for the entire day / $30.00 with electricity. Fees are due within
twenty four business hours of reservation. You must also sign an agreement
to rent a shelter. There is a daily curfew for all park visitors of 11 p.m.
to 6 a.m. All persons must leave the park by 10 p.m.
Baseball Field Reservations:
Baseball fields must be scheduled for use at the park office. This
reservation process includes both games and practice. League games do take
priority over any practice and it is possible that some practices may have
to be changed or cancelled so that a game may be played. Everyone should
check the schedule at the park office on a regular basis to confirm
cancellations or changes.
