The Board of Commissioners of the Harrisburg Township Park District holds regularly scheduled meetings at 8:00 AM, on the third Friday of each month at the Harrisburg Park Office, located at 921 W. Poplar St. Any citizen wishing to be formally placed on the agenda must contact the Park Office a minimum of 48 hours prior to the board meeting.
In accordance with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any individual who is in need of a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in or benefit from attendance at the public meeting of the Harrisburg Township Park District Board of Commissioners should contact Blake Emery, Executive Director at 618-252-2111 or email@example.com a minimum of 48 hours prior to the meeting.
Citizens' Guide to Addressing the Park Board During Comments from Public
Anyone wishing to speak under the agenda item entitled, “Comments from the Public” shall adhere to the following guidelines:
A person shall be permitted to speak upon being recognized by the Executive Director. Please stand (if possible) and announce your name before commencing. All comments are limited three (3) minutes, and each person shall only be permitted to speak once.
All speakers shall address their comments to the Executive Director. The Executive Director may or may not request that a member of the Park Board or staff respond to the comment.
The Executive Director shall preserve order and decorum. The Executive Director shall decide all questions of order.
When addressing the Board, persons permitted to speak shall confine their remarks to the matter at hand and avoid personal remarks, the impugning of motives and merely contentious statements. If any person such remarks or otherwise engages in conduct injurious to the harmony of the Park Board and the meeting, the Executive Director may immediately terminate the opportunity to speak. The decision is at the discretion of the Executive Director or upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the Board Commissioners present. Any person who engages in disorderly conduct during a meeting may be ejected from the meeting upon motion passed by a majority of the commissioners present or the event of an emergency at the direction of the Executive Director.
