3/15/2024 - Park Board Vacancy
One (1) Park Board Commissioner seat up for Appointment due to Vacancy.
The Harrisburg Township Park District Board of Commissioners will address the vacancy at the April 19, 2024 Regularly Scheduled Park Board Meeting at 8:00 am at the Harrisburg Township Park District Office (921 W. Poplar St.).
Vacancies shall be filled by appointment by a majority of the remaining members of the board. Any person so appointed shall hold his or her office until the next regular election for this office (2025), at which a member shall be elected to fill the vacancy for the unexpired term.

1/19/2024 - Local Government Efficiency Committee
At the conclusion of the regularly scheduled January 19, 2024 park board meeting, the Local Government Efficiency Committee met for the third and final time and approved the Efficiency Report for Harrisburg Township Park District. A copy of this Efficiency Report can be found at the Park District Office (921 W. Poplar St.), on file with the Saline County Board, or on the park district website www.harrisburgpark.net/open-government
Per 50 ILCS 70/30 - Dissolution of the committee: After a committee has made the report required under Section 25 of 50 ILCS 70 Decennial Committees on Local Government Efficiency Act available to the public, the committee is dissolved.
1/19/2024 - Ordinance 2024-0119 General Use Ordinances
At the regularly scheduled January 19, 2024 park board meeting Ordinance 2024-0119 General Use Ordinances was approved to replace the outdated 1983 General Use Ordinance. 12/15/2023 - 2024 Board Meetings
At the regular monthly board meeting on December 15, 2023, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the date, time, and location of the 2024 regular monthly meetings. All board meetings will be held the 3rd Friday of each month at 8:00 a.m. at the Park Main Office Community Room located at 921 W. Poplar St. The following indicates the dates of the meetings: January 19, February 16, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 21, August 16, September 20, October 18, November 15, and December 20. Adoption of these dates was approved December 15, 2023.

12/15/2023 - FY2023 Audit Notice
Harrisburg Township Park District hereby provides public notice that an audit of its funds for the period July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 (FY2023) has been made by Meyer & Associates, LLC and that a report of such audit dated December 7, 2023 has been filed with the County Clerk of Saline County in accordance with 30 ILCS 15/0.01 et seq. The full report of the audit is available for public inspection at the Harrisburg Township Park District Office (921 W. Poplar St, Harrisburg, IL 62946) during regular business hours 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday except for holidays, or continuously on the Park District website www.harrisburgpark.net.

10/20/2023 - Estimate of Tax Levy
In accordance with 35 ILCS 200/18-60, the Harrisburg Township Park District posts applicable Truth in Taxation documents, including the Estimate of Tax Levy. The Estimate of Levy Document can be found at www.harrisburgpark.net/open-government. The Tax Levy Ordinance will be presented at the November 17, 2023 Board Meeting for approval.
9/22/2023 - October 2023 Board Meeting & Local Government Efficiency Committee Meeting
The regularly scheduled October 20, 2023 park board meeting will meet at its regularly scheduled date and time.
WHEREAS, the Harrisburg Township Park District (“Park District”) is required to form a Committee on Local Government Efficiency (“Efficiency Committee”) pursuant to 50 ILCS 70/1 et seq. (the Act); and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Act, the Efficiency Committee shall: (1) study the Park District’s governing statutes, ordinances, rules, procedures, powers, jurisdiction, shared services, intergovernmental agreements, and interrelationships with other governmental units and the State of Illinois, (2) collect data, research, and analysis as necessary to prepare a written report that includes recommendations with respect to increased accountability and efficiency, and (3) provide a written report to the administrative office of each county board of the county in which the governmental unit is located.
The first Efficiency Committee Meeting will be held immediately following (but no sooner than 9:00 AM) the regularly scheduled October 20, 2023 park board meeting.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Harrisburg Township Park District is pursuing grant funds for potential recreation projects at Paul Emery Park. The potential projects include new recreational tennis courts and pickleball courts on the undeveloped Lincoln Street Property and a possible community center adjacent to the proposed tennis/pickleball courts.

4/4/2023 - Revision - Notoice to Bidders - Lincoln St Property - Land Survey (Boundary) Plat
The Harrisburg Township Park District is seeking statement of interest for the following scope of work at the Lincoln Street Property in Harrisburg, Illinois.
SCOPE OF WORK: The scope of work includes all necessary workmanship to satisfactorily complete the work consisting of Land Surveying (Boundary) Plat as required by the contract documents and scope of work document.
Surveyors submitting on the project must have a valid Illinois Professional Land Surveyor License.
The contract documents, specifications, and plans are available at 921 W. Poplar Street, Harrisburg, IL 62946. Statement of Interest for this project shall be received no later than 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023. The Statement of Interest will be publicly discussed at 8:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 at which time they will be ranked in order of qualifications to provide services for the Lincoln Street Property Survey Project. Statement of Interest must be submitted in writing and mailed or brought into the Harrisburg Township Park District, 921 W. The Harrisburg Township Park District is accepting bids for the following identified project:
Lincoln St Property – Land Survey (Boundary) Plat
Sealed bids plainly marked “Lincoln St Survey” and addressed “921 W. Poplar Street, Attention: Blake Emery, Harrisburg, IL 62946” shall be received on or before 8:00 AM, Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Main Park Office of the Harrisburg Township Park District, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. It is the intention of the Park District to accept the bid, if any, of the lowest responsible bidder, considering conformity with specifications, terms of delivery, quality, and serviceability.
Bid Packages including plans and specifications may be obtained free of charge from the Main Park Office (921 W. Poplar Street, Harrisburg, IL 62946) beginning Monday, March 20, 2023. At the regular monthly board meeting on December 16, 2022, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the date, time, and location of the 2023 regular monthly meetings. All board meetings will be held the 3rd Friday of each month at 8:00 a.m. at the Park Main Office Community Room located at 921 W. Poplar St. The following indicates the dates of the meetings: January 20, February 17, March 17, April 21, May 19, June 16, July 21, August 18, September 15, October 20, November 17, and December 15. At the July 17, 2020 Regular Park Board Meeting it was decided by the Park Board to call another Special Board Meeting for the first week of August 2020. It was later decided that the date would be Friday, August 7, 2020 at 8:00 AM at the Harrisburg Park Office. The purpose of the meeting is to assess the COVID-19 circumstances at that time and make timely decisions on the process of reopening park facilities with considerations to the Restore Illinois Plan. As a result of COVID-19, the public may not be able to attend an open meeting because of compliance with quarantine or isolation orders or general efforts to remain at home during the pandemic. The Harrisburg Township Park District (HTPD) will accept public comment by email or written submission up to the start of the meeting at 8:00 AM on August 7, 2020. These comments will be read during the time allotted for Comments From the Public on the Agenda.
The HTPD will also have a toll-free conference call-in line available for the public to both make comments during the Comments From the Public time slot and observe the rest of the meeting. 7/26/2020 - July 2020 to June 2021 Budget
At the June 26, 2020 Park Board Special Meeting the Revised Preliminary Fiscal Year July 2020 to June 2021 Budget & Appropriation Ordinance was approved by the Park Board of Commissioners. A copy of this Ordinance will be made available for public inspection for a minimum of 30 days prior to a Public Hearing and formal approval of the Fiscal Year July 2020 to June 2021 Budget & Appropriation Ordinance.
